This iconic gay bar is the perfect place to enjoy cocktails and, to be honest, the liveliest crowd you’ll ever encounter in the city.

Beyond the company and drinks, you can’t skip this bar without seeing their shows. This neighbourhood gay bar has a chilled vibe, with exceptional cocktails.

BiNG BiNG — Causeway Bay

Perched on the 22nd floor with sweeping views over Causeway Bay, BiNG BiNG is known for its electrifying atmosphere and spacious setting.

I can’t recommend it enough!

Amazing!! Not only are the communities inclusive, but the entertainment is always top-tier: local drag queens, awesome DJs, and a few karaoke rooms here and there.

From legendary hotspots to upscale chic lounges along Causeway Bay, this list has it all. Better reserve a table, though, especially for Friday and Saturday nights as they’re the busiest days.

And if you are a newcomer, you are welcome to mingle with an hour of free vodka and gin mixers on Red Cup Thursdays.

L’Paradis — Tsim Sha Tsui

For the ladies who are looking for a night of drinking and dancing and generally having a gala time, L’Paradis, one of Hong Kong’s remaining LGBTQIA+-friendly and lesbian bars, is the spot to go.

If you like the rockabilly or biker chick vibe, then the Ponty crowd will be right up your alley – it’s giving Coyote Ugly and we honestly love it. Queer-friendly spaces may not be the norm in Hong Kong but increasingly there are a number of places that offer a safe space, a chance to meet other members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and of course, a great time!

Boo Bar — Jordan

Boo Bar is known for its bears and its karaoke.

They are also known for their themed events such as celebrating Single’s Day, Halloween or Christmas, and you will often find someone dancing on the tabletop before the end of the night!

Lex Chill Hey — Causeway Bay

Lex Chill Hey emerges as Hong Kong’s event host for lesbian soirées, focusing on rhythmic prowess and pulsating beats that captivate souls.

Partygoers are encouraged to strip down and let loose – you can feel safe doing so because they have a strict no-photos policy, with safety stickers applied to everyone’s phone cameras on the way in. It's hardly surprising that this place has become a popular stomping ground for younger local crowds.

This Causeway Bay venue is a hip restobar owned by Jay Venn, more popularly known as Hong Kong-based drag queen Mocha Diva, who appeared in the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in Thailand.

If you visit on the weekends, get ready for the tables to be moved to the side and for the dance floor to fill – everyone is welcome to join for a good time!

Mihn Club — Sheung Wan

Tucked away in a commercial building in Sheung Wan, Mihn Club is an underground club for Hong Kong’s trendsetters.

Located between Repulse Bay and South Bay, and with no direct transportation stopping right at the beach, this is a secluded, tranquil spot that’s a world away from the touristy Repulse Bay. There are technically two beaches within Middle Bay; the smaller one that sits north of the main beach is more quiet, very queer, and unofficially okay with nude sunbathers.

Seriously, this app does it all!

This site and app let me do all the planning for our 15 day trip in a little over 6 hours! There are regular live band performances, shows, and themed nights, and their fantastic themed parties during Halloween and New Year’s Eve are also not to be missed.

Unlike other places that feel packed, this bar is actually pretty spacious, so there’s plenty of ground to move.

The crowd is a good mix too – you’ll find plenty of tourists as well as locals at the venue.
